"It feels like an eternity since we last kicked a ball in anger and, just as we start our pre season programme we have a double dose of football with the Euro’s. Which gives plenty for the football starved to feast on over the next couple of months.

Like many clubs, our pre-season is starting earlier than normal and we have more fixtures on the schedule. It’s important after such a layoff that we give the players adequate time to adapt and work through phases of conditioning. It’s also just as important to ease our supporters back into things and give them a decent offering after so long away.

In terms of squad update, we have seen two departures over the last few weeks;

TT Walters

A deal has been agreed with Maidstone for TT and with ambitions to move back into professional football this is the first step he needs to take, getting full-time football. A move for TT could have happened a year ago but he wanted success at HBFC and he didn’t get that opportunity due to Covid and at his age needs to make that move now before it’s too late. The ceiling of his potential is so high and we hope he fulfills that and climbs the levels.

Brad Stevenson

Brad has accepted an offer to join National South Welling United. Again, a player that has undoubted potential and he can be as good as he wants. Covid has stopped us from seeing the best of him and also meant that time is not on his side to move back up the ladder. Steve Lovell gave Brad his Football League debut and I hope that he again gives Brad the opportunity to showcase his talent.

Incomings:

We are not currently at a stage to announce our latest signings but we have been very busy and we are excited to share this news in the coming days/weeks. It’s always disappointing losing players but rest assured we have shown ambition from day 1 and you’l see that again very soon. Watch this space"
