The publication of the latest volume in The History of Herne Bay Football Club – 2012/2013 – 2016/2017 The Isthmian League Years – The Ryman Seasons is close to publication with only the technical details to be finalised with the printers.

Co-compiler Steve Barton said, “Following on from last year’s release of ‘The History of Herne Bay Football Club, 1886/1887 – 2011/2012, The First 125 Years’ we have now brought the history up-to-date. Whilst this volume covers just five seasons with the previous containing 125 years it seems an opportune moment to carry on the momentum. The sales, and especially the feedback, from the first volume was extremely positive and encouraging and with a new dawn starting at the club, with new management and players and new sponsorship forthcoming for the Isthmian League this book nicely wraps up the first 130 years of Herne Bay Football Club. It is planned to produce hard back copies which will retail at around £30 and it is aimed for availability before the start of the new season.”

Meanwhile there are still a few copies left of ‘The History of Herne Bay Football Club, 1886/1887 – 2011/2012, The First 125 Years’. It was researched, compiled and edited by Steve Barton, Ray Kelly and Doug Smith who between them have been watching Herne Bay for over 140 years. Containing over 120,000 words, nearly 1,000 photos and illustrations, with over 400 in full colour, which include over 70 team group photos. There are over 300 individual photos of players who have worn the blue and white of Herne Bay and covers the Club’s formation in 1886 up until the 125th Anniversary Season when Herne Bay won the Kent League and with it promotion to the Isthmian League.
