A totally dominant display, against a poor Three Bridges side. Six goals; three in each half.
Started on the front foot today and never looked conceding. The first clean sheet for Jordan Perrin.
A very good performance from Kieron Campbell today. Every time he went forward, Bay was a real threat. The first attack coming from Campbell with a low cross across the face of the goal, followed by a fierce drive from the edge of the box from Zak Ansah, which keeper. Kieron Thorpe punched away. The first corner came for the visitors, from which Cameron Lawson’s glancing header went wide of the target. A good period of attacking, passing play led to Campbell’s shot narrowly missing the upright. With this continual pressure, it was inevitable that a goal would follow and on 17 minutes. Hamilton Antonio appeared to have been fouled, but Bay played on, with Ansah feeding the ball through to Campbell. His low cross found JJ Naiwo at the far post to tap home. Ansah followed this with a powerful volley from inside the area which Thorpe produced a fine save, turning the ball over the bar. From the corner, taken by Bode Anibugbe, the ball was headed home, by Dan Johnson, at the back post. Bay were in total control and despite numerous chances, only made it three just before the interval, when Ansah, after being put clear by Campbell, slotted the ball under Thorpe.
The second half started slowly with the visitors having their best period in the game, although never really threatening Bays’ defence. It took nearly twenty minutes of play before Bay scored their fourth. Chinedu McKenzie latched on to a perfectly placed through ball from Ansah to curl his shot around the advancing keeper. A couple of substitutions followed with Ryan Cooper and McKenzie being replaced by Reion McFarlane and Dean Grant. With his first touch of the ball Grant made it five. Bridges defender Joe Kay, losing possession, just inside his own half, to Antonio. A quick through ball to Grant on the left and he made the finish look very easy, stroking the ball wide of Thorpe.
Ansah completed a good afternoon’s work, adding his second and Bay's sixth.
In the closing seconds Bay should have made it seven, but somehow the attempts from Ansah, Grant and Campbell in a goal-line scramble, failed to find the back of the net.
A very good performance today. Six goals and a clean sheet. The only bad point, one dissent booking for Antonio, for kicking the ball away after having a free-kick awarded against him.
On now to The Belmont on Monday, with confidence riding high.
