Herne Bay’s final match of October will see them travel to Gravesend to face Punjab United.
It’s the first time both teams will meet each other in the 2026/27 Isthmian League, having previously faced eachother in club friendlies a few years ago.
Herne Bay
The Bay have had mixed results from their previous six fixtures, recording two wins, two draws and two losses, leaving them in ninth in the league on 20 points.
Their most recent result was a dramatic three-all draw against Sittingbourne on Tuesday 27 October, where Sittingbourne equalised at the death under controversial circumstances.
But with The Bay being unbeaten in four games and having scored seven goals across those matches, they'll be looking to extend these streaks when they face Punjab this Saturday.
There are, however, a number of injuries that are plaguing Herne Bay.
The most serious of these being an ACL injury to midfielder Jacob Lambert that has ruled him out for the rest of the season.
Prolific goalscorer, Joe Taylor, is out for some time with a nasty arm injury.
Sonny Black, Lewis Gard, and Jerry Puemo are also on the injury list.
Harrison Hatfull was out of the squad for a while due to injury but has come off the bench in the past two games against Sittingbourne and Broadbridge Heath (24/10/2026).
New signings have also come in and stepped up when they’ve been needed.
Ade Azeez and Josh Ajayi have been two new names that have found their way onto the scoresheets.
Azeez has three goals in his first three games, and Ajayi has four in his first six, including a brace last Tuesday.
Another boost for Herne Bay has been the loan signing of Ryan Kingsford, originally signing on a 28-day loan and quickly becoming a fan favourite, and who has agreed to make the move a permanent one, with the signing being announced on Herne Bay’s socials.
The Opponents
Punjab United were promoted up to Step Four after their successful playoff campaign last season and have had a good start to life in the league.
They’ve recorded five wins in their last six games and sit 12th in the table on 18 points.
Their previous result was a strong 4-0 win over Eastbourne Town, and they will be looking to build on their momentum in hopes of boosting their chances at getting promoted.
