Steve Lovell had played professionally for Crystal Palace, Millwall and Gillingham and was a Welsh International. He had also been in management at Sittingbourne, Gravesend & Northfleet, Hastings United, Ashford Town (Kent), Gillingham, Bromley and Welling United. He was appointed Ramsgate manager in April 2022, where they were challenging for promotion in 2022/23 in Isthmian South East before Lovell’s shock sacking at the end of January 2023. Joined Herne Bay in May 2023.
