Herne Bay U13s were at home to Dawes Hernhill this Saturday. The game saw some beautiful passing from the Herne Bay boys who week on week are showing great potential for a great team. The newly formed squad had the majority of the game under control but failed to see any attempts on goal succeed.
A lapse in judgement from a Herne Bay pass back saw a mistake from our keeper which we couldn’t recover from giving Hernhill the first goal then shortly followed by a second goal from the away team, making it into a uphill battle for the Bay boys going into half time.
The boys yet again kept their heads and came back onto the pitch fighting and the second half saw Herne Bay attack the Hernhill goal continuously and hats off to the opposition keeper for a fingertip save.
The hard work paid off when Dexter Greene crossed a beautiful ball for Harry Whitmore’ s shot to hit the back of the net.
The boys continued to apply pressure with one attempt hitting the post and a beautiful header being denied by the Hernhill keeper but the boy didn’t give up and our second goal was formed from defender Ellis Cambulat, who sent the ball down the pitch to Dexter Greene who crossed it into the box for Harry Whitmore to score again.
Although the boys came away with a 2-2 draw they kept their heads up and in the game and played some great football.
Next week they go again and continue to build.
Man of the match was Dexter Greene with a unanimous vote
