Herne Bay u13s 2–4 Ramsgate gold

A frustrating morning for Herne Bay as we went down 4–2 to Ramsgate, despite a much-improved second-half performance.

We conceded three sloppy goals in the first half, leaving ourselves with a mountain to climb going into the break. However, the team showed great character in the second half after a change of formation gave us more attacking threat and helped us get back into the game.

We came out fighting and scored two goals through Joseph Davis and Tyler Wells, putting Ramsgate under real pressure. With the momentum behind us, we pushed hard for a third and looked capable of getting ourselves back level.

Unfortunately, while chasing the equaliser, we were caught on the counter and Ramsgate managed to score a fourth to put the game beyond us.

There are plenty of positives to take from the second half. The reaction, attitude and determination shown after the break were excellent, and the fight to get back into the game was exactly what we want to see from the team.

⚽ Goals: Joseph Davis, Tyler Wells
⭐ Man of the Match: Joseph Davis

A disappointing result, but plenty to build on from the second-half performance. We dust ourselves down and go again.
