Herne Bay U12s played at home to Ramsgate Youth on Saturday with one of the team's best performances. Reuben Reeves opened up the scoring with a corner being slotted into the bottom of the net, followed closely by his second goal as a result of great teamwork. The Bay went into half-time 2-0 up and full of spirit.
Coming into the second half, Herne Bay kept the pressure on, and the third goal was slotted away by striker Anjolaoluwa Aderoju.
A Ramsgate throw-in applied the first serious pressure on Herne Bay's defence and looked like it would get them on the score sheet; however bays keeper Ollie Anderson had other ideas and kept them at bay with a great save.
A Ramsgate goal kick saw some good passing and applied more pressure on the home team, resulting in Ramsgate’s first goal and a reminder to Herne Bay to stay switched on.
The home team wasn’t going to back down and ramped up the pressure and saw a great cross from Anjolaoluwa Aderoju set Marley Chatfield for the boys fourth goal which was shortly followed by a great cross from winger Joseph Davis which found the foot of Reuben Reeves for his hattrick. Joseph Davis was next on the score sheet with a lovely assist from midfielder Tyler Wells making Herne Bay's 6th goal.
A foul on Joseph Davis saw a free kick given and midfielder Tyler Wells delivered this beautifully into the box for Striker Anjolaoluwa Aderoju to make goal seven followed closely by a Ramsgate handball given Herne bay another free kick. Tyler wells finished the game by sending goal eight firmly into the back of the net making the final score 8-1 to the bay !
