The post-16 academy returned to action today with 7-2 away victory. Despite the score line suggesting otherwise, the first half was end to end, with both teams having multiple opportunities to score. The Bay were far from their best defensively, conceding too many chances and were fortunate the hosts did not convert.
At the other end though, the Bay were clinical in front of goal. Lots of pace and creativity in attack, Lartice was excellent down the left side causing problems throughout.
Defensively the team improved as the game went on, solid performances from Bunn and Hoskings at the back particularly. McCarthy was superb in midfield, displaying great energy and passing range.
No Jack Hillier today for the academy, after Jack played 90 minutes for the first team again against Ramsgate Tuesday night - well done Jack!
