The boys faced Hollands and Blair today in the cup.

15 minutes in, Stefan had our first chance, his header looped over the keeper but went just wide. Jack then came close, hitting his volley over the bar.

We took the lead after some great work by Juliani down the wing. His low cross was aimed for Will GE to poke home, but it was turned in by a Hollands and Blair defender for an own goal.

Hollands and Blair began to grow into the game, and 30 minutes in they were awarded a penalty despite the foul being clearly outside the box. The Hollands and Blair player scored to make it 1–1.

Just five minutes later, they took the lead after our defence switched off momentarily. 1–2.

Hollands and Blair were up for it and flying into challenges, making it difficult to settle. On 45 minutes, Charlie Hunter came close with a header, but he couldn’t direct it past the keeper.

The boys came back out determined to get back into the game but struggled to create clear chances. Juliani worked tirelessly up top and had strong shouts for both a penalty and a free kick on the edge of the box, but the referee wasn’t giving us anything.

Barnaby had our first real chance of the half after a long free kick from Charlie Keyte was punched out by the keeper, Barn’s volley from the edge of the box sailed just wide.

Jude then came close after some excellent play by Danny, finding him at the back post, but the ball bounced awkwardly and his header went wide.

Jack was next to try his luck, his shot from another long free kick deflecting off a defender and out for a corner. The boys were pushing hard but just couldn’t find the net.

Against the run of play, Holland’s and Blair grabbed their third. A cross into the box found their striker unmarked, and his effort deflected off our defender and in.

The boys didn’t give up Barnaby came close again with a one-on-one, but the keeper made a good save.

Late on, Will (GK) played a long ball over the top for Juliani, who held it up well before being brought down in the box. Finally, the referee gave something our way, a penalty. Juliani stepped up to take it, but his effort was saved by the keeper.
