

The 18s faced a strong Faversham side with many players from the 16s who won the league last season.
Will was forced to make an early save after their winger found space down the left and shot across the face of goal.
Jude then came close from a free kick on the halfway line, the keeper spilling the shot which almost found the net.
15 minutes in, Danny had the best chance of the game after some decent pressing, having his shot saved by the legs of the keeper.
A couple of minutes later, Barn made a dazzling run into the box, beating his man and squaring the ball to Juli, who was denied by the post.
Juli came close again 5 minutes later after some great link-up play between Shai and Liam, finding Juli in the box, whose effort was just tipped over.
40 minutes in, we should have had a penalty after Juli was taken down from behind in the box, but the ref waved play on.
A minute later, Shai almost converted a long throw from Sam but saw his shot go wide of the post.
First half finished all square despite the boys dominating possession and Faversham struggling to get out of their half.
The boys started the second half with the same tempo they finished with, and Shai had the first effort, which landed on the roof of the net.
Juli should have had another penalty after he burst through, beat the keeper and was taken down by the keeper, but again the ref wasn’t giving us anything.
Juli and Jude then both came close but were denied by the keeper.
The boys were peppering the goal but just couldn’t find the net.
The boys came close again — Toby finding Sam wide, who slipped in Barn. His effort went across the face of goal, and Juli couldn’t finish.
Two minutes later, Barn found space on the right and played a great ball into Juli, who converted from 5 yards. Finally.
On the 80th minute, Barn came close, almost converting a header from a free kick.
The Faversham striker then had a good chance after the ref refused to give us a foul, Will making a good save low to his left.
The boys kept pushing for a second, and Liam found Juli at the back post with a lofted cross, but his effort was saved.
A minute later, Sam burst through the middle with a great run before playing it wide to Barn, whose low cross was almost met by the outstretched leg of Juli.
1–0 at the final whistle and a well-deserved 3 points for the boys.
Defensively excellent throughout.
