Great Form

Hythe Town 0 - Herne Bay 6

Herne Bay U13’s travelled to Hythe on a cold and windy Sunday morning. Bay were in good spirts heading into this match following a string of good results. Bay started the match well playing some nice controlled football working the ball into wide areas and controlling the centre of midfield. Woody Ebrill opened the scoring with a tidy finish for 1 - 0. Hythe found it hard to get into the Herne Bay half. Every time Hythe came forward the defensive unit of Luke Harvey, Jake Addy and Toby Wilson would win back possession. A flowing move from Herne Bay starting from Anthony Simes on the left hand side of midfield interlinking with James Williams and Woody Ebrill before Joe Reid finished for 2 -0. Devon Mason added a third when he calmly lobbed the keeper before Woody Ebrill scored his 2nd and Herne Bay’s 4th before half time.

The second half saw Bay playing into the wind but they controlled the game exceptionally well attacking in numbers and it wasn’t long before James Williams showed great speed and determination as he out paced the defender on the left hand side on the penalty area and then fired across the keeper for five. Bay never looked in trouble with the wide players Anthony Simes and Joesph Crowley working tirelessly on the flanks enabling the midfield to be controlled by Alfie Wood, Rhys Austin and Peter Haggerty. On the rare occasions that Hythe did get an opportunity to score they found Tom Roberts in good form to prevent them. Bay could have added more to the scoreline but if it wasn’t for the Hythe Town keeper who managed to keep the scoreline down. Woody Ebrill rounded of the scoring after showing great body strength to out muscle the defender and place the ball past the Hythe keeper for 6 and his hat trick.
