Today we faced Minster at home. We had beaten them 2-1 at their ground early on in the season.
We knew it would be a feisty affair as they were our closest challenges last year in the league and previous encounters had been fiery.
Minster started the game on the front foot having the better opportunities.
Both teams picked up yellows early on due to late challenges.
Our best chance came 20 mins in, Juliani playing a delightful cross field pass, sending Anton through on goal only to be denied by the keeper.
Minster came close just before half time from a free kick out wide, finding a Minster player a few yards out. His effort was saved by Will
Half time 0-0
We started the 2nd half better Henry rattling the cross bar after the ball fell to him from a corner.
Juliani then came close 5 mins later his effort saved well by the keeper
Juliani then had a 1 on 1 but couldn't covert his effort.
Despite our efforts Minster took the lead after we failed to clear the ball.
We responded almost straight after Ashdon bursting through 1 on 1 and slotting past the keeper 1-1.
We finally took the lead ourselves after a piece of magic from Juliani, dribbling down the wing beating his man and cutting in on his right smashing it in the far corner 2-1. WHAT A FINISH.
Both teams were reduced to 10 men late on but the boys hung on to secure 3 important points.
An important win for the boys today, despite being no where near our best.
Next week another tough match away to Hastings
