Lordswood showed how they intended to play the game early on with some scrappy challenges and kicking long.

We took the lead 20 minutes in, Jack took a free kick on the edge of the box that came off a Lordswood player and beyond their keeper.

Juliani then broke down the left and delivered a cross which Zac tried to covert on the volley but it went narrowly wide.

Ferdi and Alex were introduced just before the end of the half and Alex almost had an immediate impact on his debut almost poking home a cross from Ferdi.

Lordswood came close, a header from a corner coming off the post..

We immediately responded, Ferdi being sent through but his shot went narrowly wide.

Herne Bay went 2 nil up just before the break, Tommy played a good ball through to Jack on the right who played a great ball across the box to Zac who comfortably turned the ball home.

Lordswood kept pressing and their striker went through 1 on 1 but was denied by the fingertips of an outstretched Will just before the break.

The first chance of the 2nd half fell to Alex and his effort on the edge of the box went just wide.

Owen then played a delightful long ball to Alex who was bundled over on the edge of the box as he burst through. The ref showed their defender a straight red.

A few monents later Jack put through Ferdi who fed Barnaby whose shot went just wide.

Barnaby burst through again finding Alex whose shot was cleared by the keeper. In the same passage of play the ball then fell to Henry at the edge of the box but his first effort was saved and the rebound was cleared off the line.

Owen then picked up the ball on the half way line driving forward before hitting a cracking shot from range which looked like it was going in the top corner but was pushed wide by their keeper.

Barnaby who was looking really lively down the right since being introduced beat two players before getting his shot away which beat the keeper but came off the post, the rebound was tucked home by Ferdi but the flag goes up.

Alex then slipped through Ferdi he beat the keeper but his effort went just over the bar.

The boys were dominating the game and moving the ball well on a difficult pitch, creating chance after chance but just couldn't find the 3rd goal to put the game to bed.

The defence had been solid clearing up any attacks.

Completly against the run of play Lordswood were given a corner and it was turned in at the back post 2-1 game on.

Barnaby then played a top ball through to Anton who finished well but this was disallowed for offside.

Jack then found Juliani who lobbed the keeper but his shot just went over the bar.

Eventually we put the game to bed, Barnaby put through Anton who burst clear and slotted through the legs of the on rushing keeper.
