Without a Spring Series fixture, Herne Bay's Development Squad played a hastily arranged friendly against fellow Kent Division Two (East) side, Faversham Strike Force. Faversham included former Herne Bay favourite Emma Brown in their side who had been knocking goals in for fun before she came up against the solid central defensive pairing of Georgina Reid-Ward and Sarah Jones. There was much to enjoy in this fixture. Jones and Reid-Ward looked in charge at the back, skipper Katie Reeves was outstanding in midfield and all that was missing was a goal. That might have come just before the half-time break but Effie Dodd's penalty was gratefully saved by the Strike Force 'keeper when the spot kick was blasted almost straight at her. Hannah Earl almost got on the score sheet in the second half, her effort just looping wide of the home goalframe.

This was a game played in good spirit between two well matched teams. Manager Mark Bunt said, "Sarah and Georgina have developed a good understanding between them at the heart of the defence. We don't concede many, now we need to learn how to score when we come up against a team who also defend well".
