SECWFL Spring Series
At The Kent Vehicles Stadium, Winch’s Field

Herne Bay’s Development Squad celebrated a rare opportunity to play a home match at the main stadium with a five nil drubbing of promotion rivals Sittingbourne 2nds. The experienced Effie Dodds was certainly not going to let the occasion go to waste, bagging a first half hat-trick and adding a fourth eleven minutes from time to complete the scoring. Jordan Langstone, playing her first game after returning from maternity leave, announced her return with a goal five minutes after the break.

But this was a celebration of a whole team effort as well as some fine individual performances. Responding to their more illustrious surroundings, Bays’ mixture of experience and young developing players put on a display worthy of the venue. It was a shame that there wasn’t an opportunity for spectators to witness it in the normal way. Maybe next season, and all this whilst the latest Starship prototype nailed its first safe landing. Onwards and upwards!
