Resounding win for the Bay

(Written by John Bathurst)

A return for Laurence Harvey, three u18 players make their debut, one scored the final
goal and a thrashing of old time rivals VCD Athletic.

This was a very one-sided game with the Bay totally dominant in all departments, and a match which ex-Bay keeper, George Kamurasi, would like to forget.

In the opening minutes Rory Smith flashes a shot across the keeper, just wide. Minutes
later Mason Saunders-Henry header gets deflected over the bar.

From the corner, Chris Edwards cross, Helge Orome powers a header inside the far post. Quickly followed by an own goal where the defender stabbed in a low cross from Jack Parter.

Former Vickers, Edwards made it three, with a stunning volley from fully 20 yards. Kymani Thomas receives a ball on the edge of the area, takes one touch before smashing the ball into the top corner, past a helpless Kamurai to make it four nil at the break.

U18, Monty Sanders, replaced Rory after he had taken a knock at the end of the half.

Vickers appeared to show a bit more spirit in the second period and reduced the deficit
when the Bay lost possession inside Vickers half and Joseph Bingham was put clear and
he placed the ball wide of Jordan Perrin.

Back came Bay. Saunders-Henry intercepts a poor back pass, rounds big G and slots
home. Two more u18 substitutes, Euan Bunn and Zeus McCully, are introduced.

Kymani then adds number six with the best goal of the game. Receives the ball outside the area, sends two defenders the wrong way, gaining a yard of space, to allow him to curl the ball past the outstretched arms of the keeper.

The icing on the cake came when Zeus was in the right place to stab home the seventh from a low cross from 6 yards.
