The new recruits are not all that unfamiliar at the club with both having been involved with the Bay in different ways. Billy played in many of the Herne Bay academy teams - featuring in Under 18s, alongside the talented Sam McCallum. He later, during the 2023/24 season, joined the Under 23s coaching team.

Gary has also made a huge impact at Winch's Field, having made an incredible 193 appearances for the team during the clubs Ryman years. The defender left the club after playing his youth team football at Herne Bay to play senior football for Whitstable Town where he gained player of the year awards twice. A move back to Herne Bay for the 2012/13 season ended an eight-year association with the Oystermen since making his debut in January 2004. Gary won Supporters’ Player of the Season in only his second season at the club, during the 2013/14 season.
