Herne Bay FC Women have added experienced coach Lorne MacLennan to their coaching staff. Lorne joins the club having previously been with the men’s side of Canterbury City and coached with the women’s section at National League Crystal Palace. He also has a military background holding the rank of WO2 with the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders so the squad can expect some exacting drill regimes.
Manager Howard Pearce said, “I’m delighted to welcome Lorne to the staff. His experience, commitment and enthusiasm will help us take the women’s set up at Herne Bay to the next level”.
MacLennan commented, “I’ve watched a few of the games now and taken a couple of training sessions. There’s talent in the squad which I am eager to work with and develop. The manager has his eye on a few new signings and I will be able to suggest a few as well that will move the club on. I’m looking forward to working with the group and taking the club forward”.
