Lead out their Teams

For the pre-season match with Witham Town it was a privilege for Herne Bay FC to invite two former winners of the Isthmian League Supporter of the Season to lead out their teams.

James Beardwell (left) of Witham Town received the accolade for 2016/17. James is autistic and has learning difficulties. He travels to matches by train to highlight that it is possible for people who struggle, with what is the norm for many people, to overcome their fears and anxiety. He produces a match day vlog for YouTube which can be found here: youtu.be/Cb0EtPQ2tOg
Ken Dixon (right) of Herne Bay was honoured for 2017/18. Ken is severely visually impaired but has overcome this obstacle by viewing the games through his ipad. In this way he has been able to see the action, something that he was unable to do in the way that most of us take for granted, and then watch the videos back at home on his magnifying screen. He also adds his videos of the match action onto the Herne Bay FC Loyal Fan Club page on facebook which is much appreciated by the Herne Bay supporters and players alike.
