With the 'O's having made a sparkling start to the season in the L&SERWFL this was always going to be a tough fixture for Herne Bay Ladies. It was made the harder through unavailability resulting in only 10 being named on the team sheet and that included the manager who is still desperately attempting to exchange boots for the long coat and a place in the dugout.

Orient found the extra space with regularity with their brand of fast flowing football and neat approach play. Four goals to the good come the turnaround, they pressed Bay hard in the second period and with tired legs tiring further Bay conceded a further four before the final whistle. Credit though Herne Bay Ladies never say never attitude. This group of players never gives up. They battled on for the full 90 minutes. This is a close knit group who play for and support each other. There is more than a hint that good times are, once again, not far way.

"We've forgotten the scoreline already", said Herne Bay Ladies manager Rachel Tracy, "what is impressive is they have worked so hard for each other. With a full squad available there is no doubt that we will pick things up again. We know it's a team in transition and we know that it will improve. I'm incredibly proud of the players attitude, work rate and togetherness".
