Herne Bay Ladies will find it hard to progress in the L&SERWFL League Cup for this season after this narrow Group stage defeat at the hands of a strong Watford Development squad but the match signalled much more than that for Rachel Tracy's charges. This reverse by the only goal of the game represented a progression in this first season of transition amounting to a moral victory as Watford had humiliated Bay back in the opening league game of the season. There is still much to do but much confidence was gained from this solitary goal loss and the confidence level will undoubtedly rocket once Bay can get back into goal scoring mode.

The goal itself came in the 36th minute when Bay 'keeper, Sarah Cooper, came to the edge of her area to counter the threat of Kemina Webber's advance down the left but her kicked clearance simply rebounded off the Watford forward who then sent an angled shot into the net. Alisha Brayer had earlier struck the bar for Watford but in a spirited second half fightback Bay might easily have snatched a deserved equaliser.

"It's definitely coming, I know, and once we start winning, the confidence will show the ability their capable of", said Herne Bay Ladies manager, Rachel Tracy.
