In this season of rebuilding Herne Bay Ladies succumbed at home to Camden Town who had much the better of the first half with their quick passing and control of space. Bay came back into it in the second 45 but had left themselves with a mountain to climb in this group stage match in the League Cup. Ten minutes into the second period tenacious skipper, Kate Foster, fell awkwardly appearing to damage her knee. The game was stopped for some 20 minutes whilst club officials rendered assistance, awaiting a paramedic first responder, who subsequently summoned an ambulance. It is likely that Bay's taliswoman will be sidelined for several weeks if not longer.

With the league cup being played on a group basis prior to the semi-finals (the top two in each group go into that stage) this defeat does not signal the end of Bay's interest in the competition. Watford, Crawley Wasps and Eastbourne Town make up the five team group.

Herne Bay Ladies Squad: Carly Farrow, Emily Brown, Rachel Tracy, Rebecca Longley, Debbie Blackmore, Sophia Joy, Kate Foster, Alice Phillips, Beth Cooper, Mollie Prctor, Harriett Woolston, Sarah Holmes, Laura Baker, Sarah Cooper.

Herne Bay Ladies Player of the Match: Debbie Blackmore
