Herne Bay Ladies bounced back from their heavy opening day defeat with a clean sheet and their first league point of the season in this entertaining but goalless draw. Neither side created clear cut chances but both showed sufficient passion and commitment with each enjoying supremacy in their own purple patches to suggest that one goal might take the maximum points.

For Herne Bay Ladies, this was a markedly improved display thanks to greater selection choice for the manager with two returning players enjoying strong performances; Charlie Hayes rallying the midfield and Tor Holness settling well into a striking partnership with Beth Cooper, underlining the new manager's faith in the 4-4-2 system.

Herne Bay Ladies Manager Rachel Tracy said, "It was a great game, I can't fault the girls, Charlie Hayes was outstanding, Tor was brilliant holding the ball up and Amber was terrific stepping in at left back. There's still things to work on and we need to get some confidence back which is happening. I couldn't fault the commitment. I've said to the girls if you can walk off smiling whatever the result we know we've done our job and again we've done that".
