This rearranged fixture was made ‘pay what you like’ by Herne Bay FC with proceeds going to the Air Ambulance Service that had attended the original abandoned fixture and air lifted Lee Browning to hospital. A preliminary figure of £1,200 was announced that will be donated to this worthy cause.

Herne Bay’s goalkeeper, Jack Delo, was presented with a tankard sponsored by the Herne Bay FC Supporters Association prior to the match to mark 350 appearances for the Winch’s Field outfit.

Herne Bay’s run of defeats continued on Tuesday night and with it any chance of a play off place. This run of poor form now stretches to five games in a row.

Herne Bay were a goal down in 26 seconds after some very poor defending when Joe Taylor jinked past Dan Johnson before squaring to Aaron Quain who prodded in from close range. The Bay seemed to be still in the dressing room when they conceded a second goal within 12 minutes. Once again it was Joe Taylor who slithered through a dozy Herne Bay defence and placed the ball past Jack Delo.
Ramsgate were all over Bay for the first 30 minutes with Aaron Quain and Joe Taylor rampant and a constant menace to the Bay defence.

Herne Bay slowly woke up from their slumbers and on 31 minutes a Sam Hasler free kick , from 30 yards stung the Rams keeper’s hands, Luke Watkins did well to hang on to the ball. Herne Bay started to press the Rams and two minutes later James Turners mazy run and shot was turned round the post for a corner. Sam Hasler's corner was misjudged by Luke Watkins and the ball nestled in the corner of the net.

On 38 minutes Bay were nearly caught out when Aaron Quain picked up a ball in acres of space and sped through the non existent Herne Bay defence and with only Jack Delo to beat , he fired well wide. Two minutes later Bay should have equalised when Connor Sanders fired well over with the goal at his mercy after a collision between Liam Quinn and Luke Watkins left an empty net.

Herne Bay started the second half very much on the front foot and with chances falling to Dan Parkinson and James Turner but neither could convert due to Luke Wheatley and Joe Kane on hand to snuff them out. Herne Bay continued to put pressure on the Rams defence with Liam Quinn and Danny Williams both having chances but with no end result. Two further chances fell to Danny Walder and Dan Williams when well placed but once again their efforts flew over the bar.
