Under Strength Bay Bow to Woodstock

Without several players who will most likely be in the 2014/15 regular first team squad, Herne Bay manager Sam Denly chose to take the opportunity to give several U21s, U18s and trialists a chance to showcase their potential, writes Peter Guise.

Jordan Casey returned to the fold after his trials at Ryman Premier outfit Maidstone United and scored the opening goal for the Bay in the 5th minute.

On a baking July afternoon Sam Denly made numerous changes with Bay eventually going down 2-1 to the SCEFL side.

"I've learnt a lot about my squad this afternoon", Denly said, "I'm getting a much clearer picture of who will and won't be in the final squad that will contest the new season. I need to take a look at these lads, that's what pre season is for."
