U13s Continue good form

Herne Bay U13’s continue there good form.

The under 13’s travelled to Hartsdown for a league match against Margate Youth. Bay were looking for three wins on the bounce and started the game well and looked to boss the midfield creating a few chances but nothing clear cut. When Margate did break through the defensive unit of Jake Addy, Anthony Simes and Rhys Austin had all attacks covered and Goalkeeper Tom Roberts had very few saves to make. Just before half time Herne Bay created the best chance of the match, some how Margate managed to clear a goal mouth scramble off the line.

Th second half started very much in the same way and Herne Bay took the lead when Joe Reid followed up on last weeks hat trick by holding off the defender before firing past the Margate keeper from the edge of the penalty area. Margate tried to find a way back into the game but Herne Bay continued to play some great attacking football creating a number of good chances but could convert them. Until a cross field pass to Kyle Cowell was centred back to Woody Ebrill who showed great bravery to get to the pass before the keeper and receiving a painful knock but not before placing the ball past the keeper for Herne Bay’s second of the match.

Herne Bay never looked like conceding a goal and held out for a great 0-2 win.
