England Duet Come Good’

Herne Bay played Margate Old Blues in the Kent Walking Football League at Bay Point Sandwich on Monday evening. It was a slow start from Herne Bay and Margate took the lead with a long range shot that saw Nick Denly catching thin air as ball sailed past him . Herne Bay then bombarded Margate’s goal with Danny Kimber, Kevin Marsh and Bob Taylor hitting the woodwork, but they could not find a way past the goalkeeper with too many wasted shots . Halftime came with the scoring remaining at 1 - 0 to Margate.

Herne Bay made two substitutes in the second half and within 2 minutes Herne Bay had equalised with Neil Brown ghosting past two defenders putting the ball low to the goalkeepers left. Great build up play between Harry Roberts and Danny Kimber passed the ball to Neil Brown who coolly finished a fine move making it 2-1. Further good passing between Trevor Brown, Neil Brown and Danny Kimber provided Neil Davey with a chance on goal which he took with low sharp shot to make the score 3-1. Herne Bay were now showing what they can do with Alan Ballie linking with Danny Kimber who put
Neil Brown away who calmly slotted home to make the score 4-1. The 5th goal came courtesy of Neil Davey who blasted the ball into the top corner of the net in his usual style.

Herne Bay squad: Nick Denly, Neil Brown, Bob Taylor, Danny Kimber, Kevin Marsh, Harry Roberts, Trevor Brown, Alan Baillie, Steve Snell, Neil Davey.
