Social Night

Herne Bay FC Supporters’ Association have booked the clubhouse at Winch’s Field for the evening of Saturday 21st July 2018 for a pre-season social. This will follow on from the pre-season friendly against Canvey Island.

Musical entertainment will be provided by the ever popular fab four, The Lost Weekend, from Herne Bay, who were inspired by the energy of Britpop and formed during the spring of 94 and have their roots in the Mod movement in the 1960s and play a set forming a rich variety of songs that have influenced generations. A true celebration of British music from the 60’s to the current day. Lead singer and guitarist Micky Ware played for Bay during the 80s, bassist Mark Anthony runs the Club Shop on behalf of the Supporters’ Association and guitarist and vocalist Rob Packman is regular on the Winch’s Field terraces.

John and Jermaine will be encouraging the players to attend, and many supporters have also committed to be there.

There will also be an opportunity for present and potential sponsors to discuss ways that the club can help with promoting their businesses amongst those visiting Winch’s Field.

Whilst there is free entry to this Social those attending are encouraged to buy raffle tickets on the night which will help with covering the costs and donations of raffle prizes will be gratefully received.

Members of the Supporters’ Association will be on hand to collect the membership fees for 2018/19, still only £10 for the whole season, and it is hoped that the latest book in the History of Herne Bay Football Club series – Season 2017/18 will be back from the printers by then and available for sale.

Herne Bay FC Supporters’ Association Chairman, Steve Barton, said: “The last campaign saw some superb football being played, the best for many years, and the forthcoming season promises to be something very special. We contributed in many ways last time out and have lots of plans for the forthcoming season but can only be successful in supporting the club if the supporters support us. We are a not-for-profit organisation, but also do not want to run at a loss for the events that we organise. I hope to see as many of you as possible on the 21st.”
