Another trip to Vauxhall Road

Apart from being drawn away it is actually a good draw for us
- Rachel Tracy

Following their win on penalties at home to Parkwood Rangers, Herne Bay Ladies have been drawn away to Hemel Hempstead Town in the SSE Women's FA Cup 3rd Round Qualifying. The tie will take place on Sunday 9th October KO 2:00 p.m at Vauxhall Road, home of Conference South side Hemel Hempstead Town. It maybe viewed slightly creepily by some that Herne Bay's 1st team were there last Saturday in the Emirates FA Cup 2nd Round Qualifying and came away with what has been described in the media as the performance of the round with a 1-1 draw to earn a replay at Winch's Field. A replay is not possible in the SSE Women's FA Cup with matches going to extra time and penalties if necessary.

The club's mini coach will be busy that weekend making two trips to Hertfordhiree inside 48 hours with the Ladies to this Women's FA Cup tie on Sunday and the day before with the 1st team to Barton Rovers in the FA Trophy.

Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies play in the Greater London Women's Football League which is one division below the L&SERWFL in which Herne Bay Ladies play. Watford were promote from that league to the L&SERWFL for this season.

Hemel are currently second bottom of the league having drawn once and lost twice in their three league outings to date. They did, however, beat Bedford Ladies from the Eastern Region WFL (equivalent to the L&SERWFL) 2-1.

Herne Bay Ladies manager, Rachel Tracy said, "Apart from being drawn away it is actually a good draw for us. They play a league below and I'm told it's a good stadium to play in so we will enjoy that because we have a good stadium at Winch's Field. The dressing room is buzzing again and we are growing in confidence. It's a road trip, yes, but the girls are looking forward to it".
