Herne Bay Ladies have had their name change to Herne Bay FC Women approved and will use the new name for the new campaign. with the Women's World Cup now taking place it seemed the right opportunity to seek and gain approval for the change.

Herne Bay play in the South East Counties Women's Football League, compete in the Women's FA Cup and the Kent FA Women's Cup, so it makes more sense for the team to be known as Herne Bay FC Women.

Manager Peter Whittaker said, "Ladies is an outdated language, Women is more modern and equal".
