Another lack lustre display today with Bay looking tired and always second best to a physical and workmanlike Horsham.
Horsham dominated the match from start to finish not allowing Bay any time on the ball. Bay’s passing game was non-existent today with too many long balls going from the back giving Horsham’s defence plenty of heading practice.

Only two shots on target throughout the game, with Luis Medina the only player to force Keeper, Josh Pelling, into making any save of note; diving low down to his right and turning his goal bound header around the post.

Despite their dominance Horsham didn’t have any real attempts on target themselves apart from Chris Smith’s winning strike in the 73rd minute. He brushed off the challenge of his marker, after the ball was flicked into his path by Rob O’Toole and he made no mistake from 15 yards stroking it wide of the advancing Jordan Beeney. Although they were always a threat, particularly down the right flank, with Lee Harding making numerous forceful runs and delivering threatening crosses into the danger area, Beeney never had a save to make.

It was Smith who could have opened the scoring in the first half; his low shot across the face of the goal and Beeney but struck the upright and ricocheted away to safety.

Bay now only have one league game in the next three weeks so it will be difficult avoiding being trapped near the bottom of the table as it is likely the other teams will gain points while we are not playing.
